The big, massive, gigantic week

It’s been a massive week and even though much thought, prayer and preparation has taken us here, it’s still all a little overwhelming (them and me).  See, this week we have put our last two home schooled teenagers into school.

That may not seem massive for some of you to imagine, but consider that I have home schooled my kids for 8 1/2 years, and my youngest daughter (yr 9), has not ever been to any school apart from home… Big. Massive. Gigantic.

With the mourning from the closing of this chapter, comes much joy wrapped in new possibilities and adventures… I haven’t had a career since my eldest daughter was born, and she’s nearly 18. I feel incredibly blessed to have such a supportive husband through all of this and thankful for a family who went without fancy holidays, clothes and gadgets due to being a one income family. Not one of us are sad at this, all 5 of us agree it’s been the best life. Simple. Profound. Fun. Full of love. Quantity and quality.

Now we start new challenges of finding and guarding intentional family time…  And my soul that has been aching for a while to fulfil some of my personal dreams and passions instead of just being the wind beneath other people’s wings, gets a chance to soar.

So here’s a sneak peek of some artwork to celebrate my new chapter.

You are such an inspiring woman of God- prayers for your family as you make a huge transition. Can’t wait to see what is in store for you in the coming months. 🙂 and may your two monkeys make many lasting memories as they find themselves in a new learning environment- challenging in many ways but praying it will be fantastic as well!!
