from blank pages to blessed

I love blank pages. I love covering blank pages with colour. I never start with the end in mind, I just start by choosing colours and filling the blank pages til they’re not blank any longer.

I usually apply a layer of semi-transparent paint over my colourful background. The first layer provides interest and colour and the paint overlay allows subtle canvas to apply more layers.

The sunflower started as a circle that i stencilled dots of gold and brown onto, that in turn birthed petals from a vintage dictionary that begged to be painted yellow.

The final layer on my art journal page is always squiggled and doodled words and lines, creating depth and definition… I love Sunday at my craft desk. IMG_0016

My quote says: “Blessed when you’re content with who you are – no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves the proud owner of everything that can’t be bought.” – Jesus
