Sundays are pyjama days. On Sundays i don’t wear my watch, i eat breakfast really late (very unusual for me) and i ignore the housework. We have just finished home schooling for the term so i am just really mentally fatigued. Even though my daughter won 4 movie tickets on a local radio station comp (valid for today only), i magnanimously let Hubby take them out so i could have the house to myself.
When i heard the car leave i sat at my craft desk and got messy with paint in my art journal. Then i thought, i feel like movie, so i put on Patch Adams (yes i know its only loosely based on a true story, still gets me thinking very time) which i really only listened to as i worked. Then i put on a cheese making DVD, so interesting, something new on my bucket list.
This is the beginning of my art journal cover, it used to be grey. Pics from front and then back about 30 mins into the design. Base collage is recycled materials, a vintage map of London, music sheets & book pages from a Jane Austin novel.
Back of journal complete with butterflies.
and front finished, but still fiddling with it. Those times when it’s almost right and you set it aside to look at it again later… for tweaking.
Stamps, ink, paint, washi tape, stencils, perfect pearls mixed with paint and dylusions spray. Had fun. Hands still have paint on them, too lazy to scrub.
Dragonfly detail, love this stamp. The perfect pearls on the wings look great, in real life they are quite shiny.
