my creative space – thrifted and gifted

Thrifted vintage plates plus some shiny silver fittings equals a sweet, original gift of a tiered platter for friends who got married this past Monday.  I love the pink Hydrangeas on the centre plate, really tempted to keep this gift for myself.

They hired a photobooth and unlimited use meant us guests had quite a giggle taking pics f ourselves.  They machine spat out two copies of each print, one we pasted in a scrapbook for the bride and groom and one we got to keep.

Congratulations to

we had a lovely time and you both had the biggest smiles all day!

Weddings on  a Monday or mid-week are getting so popular, we have been to several.  Leave a comment telling what you think of midweek weddings.  Great excuse for a day off mid-week or plain inconvenient?

Playing along with My Creative Space again.

We planned to have a Monday wedding too (we would have been together 3 years and one month) – but we had to change the date to fit in with another wedding in the family who had planned their wedding for the day before (they told the parentals the same day we did – we told dad – they told mum!). We ended up with the most gorgeous Sunday – complete with a rainbow when there were no clouds or rain. We were blessed.

Love the wedding gift. The bride looks radiant.
Mid-week wedding is good if you can get the time off work, but does make it difficult for those who can’t.

What a great gift idea. As for the weddings during the week I can see the advantages, epecially for the bride and groom and there pocket. Although I think that it is only a matter of time before all of the flowerists and venues start charging more as midweek weddings are the norm and weekends are no longer being booked.

I love your gift. What a great idea. I’ve never seen a photo booth at a wedding, but it sounds like a lot of fun. Weekend weddings are difficult for use due to work schedules. I don’t think you can accommodate everyone.

i would say inconvenient!! haha!! i would imagine a lot of people who could usually attend a friends wedding on the weekend would be unable to attend a mid week one due to not being able to get time off work? PS i adore your cake plate!!! you are very clever!!!
