day 2 of Blogtoberfest for me and already i have failed… but not one to give up so easily at a challenge, two posts will grace today.
My kids all write me letters, leaving them on my pillow or on my craft desk but one of my daughters in particular is a wordy person, she takes after her mother i guess.
We all have boxes on our wardrobe shelves our family calls Memory Boxes. Inside is contained letters, cards, mementos and bits from occasions we want to remember. I have every love letter/card my husband has ever written me, the after dinner mint from the restaurant where we ate the night he proposed, my pregnancy positive tests, feathers from holidays, place cards from weddings… you get the idea.
They are treasured memories, a place where occasionally i open the box and the memories tumble out and swirl around. Some are sad memories, funeral notices and letters from my Nana who is no longer with us, most are joy-filled though and bring a smile. Each is a thread of who we are, what we have become and a chapter or page in our life story.
I’d grab our boxes one of the first things if there ever was a fire at our house.
