my creative space – two little things

i have had time to sit at my craft desk (figuratively speaking) just twice this last week and i’ve been learning something new. This is how far i got in 1  1/2 hours.

Mind you there was much talking and catching up, seeing the new engagement ring, hearing how he proposed, eating basil and garlic dip (thanks Emma), watching magic happen as vintage sheets became baby bibs and generally looking at each others bracelets progressing. Great night out, thanks girls. I’ve tried almost every craft on earth but i’ve never made a friendship bracelet before, love new crafts!

i’ve now completed one full sock and have started my second one.

I’ve had to stop here because i have made a boo boo and have to go back and swap a few of my knit and purl stitches around. Can i do this without pulling it all undone?  Hm… i’ll let you know how i go.

More creative spaces here.

Wow! I haven’t made friendship bracelets since highschool… It was fun though. Good on you for giving it a go. 🙂
You could swap the knits and purls by dropping the stitch down to where you made the mistake. You might want to put a pin through the good stitch below it though, so it doesn’t totally run away from you. (A DPN or a cabling needle will help you put the stitches back in place.) 🙂 All the best with it!

I remember making these with my cousin as girls on School Holidays. I will have to teach my little girl how to do them in school holidays to come.

If you knit around to where the mistake is and slowly and carefully pull out that line you can pick them back up with a crochet hook.

    Love your friendship bracelet.
Good luck with your unravelling. Its something I’m getting better at, but IF I manage to do it without dropping stitches, I often still get twisted stitches.
