apples & tealights

we just suddenly decided we needed some dried apple, home-made style.  So we did.  We started home school 30 mins late (because we can), we peeled, sliced and then placed our juicy apple slices in our dehydrator, about 5 trays. By that afternoon we had this, with no nasty chemicals.

i decorated pesto jars with cotton ribbon and a button, have i told you lately how much i love my hot glue gun?  Perfect for tiny tea light candles when we eat outside and with winter creeping its icy fingers toward us, we’d better make the most of outdoor dining.

So great!!!! We are thinking of making our own solar dehydrator. We were given a plan for one and it looks fairly straightfoward (and no electricity costs) so we are going to try it…..and i think apples like yours will be our first delight in it!
    Much love,

These look scrumptious and so easy! We don’t have a dehydrator but I’ve just made a solar oven…do you think it would work in there? It’s basically a cardboard box lined with al foil and a glass lid – it works just like a slow cooker and makes delicious stews! I plan on posting about making it one of these days…
