dancing in the palms of God

“God is so big, Satan is like a crumb.”  These words of wisdom are from my daughter Shayleigh (who was then 5).  I think she’s right and so i choose to believe that my God is so big that he holds all of us in the palms of His hands.  And if God is holding us in his hands, then I’m dancing on His palms.  I am dancing because I have hope for my future.  I am dancing because I have read the last pages of the Bible and I know how the world ends.

In C.S Lewis’s great book Prince Caspian, Lucy, one of the human children meets Aslan, the God figure, after not being in his presence for a long while.  “Aslan, you’re bigger,” she says.

“That is because you’re older, little one,” he answered. “Not because you are?” “I am not.  But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”

I realise that God is only as big as I let him be.  Question: how big am i willing to let Him be?  Big enough to plan my children’s future?  Big enough to hold loosely to our finances and spread the wealth around?  Big enough to heal my emotional, physical and spiritual wounds?  Big enough to trust him with my life?
